Good evening, folks. Our big temperature crash is underway as a cold front sweeps in from the west. This boundary is producing gusty showers and storms, but it’s the massive temp swing stealing the weather show.

First off, let’s track the rains working across the Commonwealth…

Winds will be gusty as the temps crash quickly. Watch the numbers drop into the 30s tonight across the western half of the state, then statewide Saturday night…

If winds go calm, that would set the stage for frost by Sunday morning. I think that is especially the case in the sheltered valleys.

The winds tonight and Saturday actually are enough to create a wind chill. Check it out…

B to the RRRRRRRR!

Sunday and Monday continue to look very nice with highs in the 60s. Our next system arrives on Tuesday with some chilly showers…

After another shot of similar chill to what we have this weekend, temps should bounce back and may go above normal by next weekend. That’s when we could turn the pattern pretty wet for a bit. I’m watching the final week of October for the potential of a winter looking trough developing across the country.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
