Good Friday everyone and welcome to another day of storms across parts of Kentucky. We’ve had a wild few days with round after round of thunderstorms working across the bluegrass state. These storms have been big wind, lightning and rain makers and this has caused all kinds of problems. Some areas may hit the trifecta today with more strong or severe storms.
The best threat for severe storms today will be across the eastern half of the state. Damaging winds and hail will be the main players once again. Heavy rains will accompany these storms and some local high water problems can’t be ruled out.
A few words about the weekend and beyond…
- Storms will slowly work to our east later tonight as some drier air filters in.
- A storm or two will still be possible this weekend across the east and southeast.
- Temps will run in the 80s east and low 90s far west.
- The pattern next week looks like one that will give us more clusters of thunderstorms working in from the northwest. I sense more severe weather ahead.
Speaking of severe weather… let’s track what’s out there today.
I will have updates as needed. Have a great Friday and take care.
