Good evening, everyone. All you lovers are out and about enjoying some very cold temps, but it’s a dry evening. As we head into the weekend, we do change it up a bit, but a more potent system works in here by early next week. That keeps our up and down temp pattern rolling.

The weekend is mainly dry until Sunday afternoon, when a few showers show up. The best chance is across central and eastern Kentucky.

The system early next week has a shot of mild ahead of it, with a blast of cold behind it. In between will come gusty showers and some thunder from late Monday into Tuesday. That boundary checks up somewhere to our south and may allow another storm system to bowl from west to east. Can that get far enough north to produce some winter weather in here? We shall see.

Here’s the GFS with the setup…

The European Model has a colder push of air and keeps any possible system well to our south…

Regardless, this is a very cold setup coming in behind that, but it’s not going to stick around very long. Odds favor some wild swings through the rest of the month. Check out the Euro Ensembles temperature deviations from normal…

Enjoy the evening and take care.
