Good Monday, everyone. It’s a mild start to the week as we await the arrival of a potent cold front. This bad boy drops in here Tuesday and will usher in a much colder pattern for the rest of the week. Showers and storms will accompany the front, but is there any hope of winter weather behind it?

Let’s get this party started with the weather out there today. Temps will range from 60-65 in many places under a mix of clouds and sun. There’s the chance for a shower or two in the west and far north later today into the evening hours. Here are your radars to track the action to our west…

As the cold front moves in on Tuesday, gusty showers and some rumbles of thunder blow through the region. That front presses to our south as colder air comes in behind it for Wednesday. Another system is likely to develop along this front and should roll due east.

Odds still favor this being too far south to have much of, if any, impact on our weather, but the it’s a little closer call on some of the models…

I’m still not ready to fully slam the door on this system coming farther north. Let’s give it another day or so and see if there’s any kind of trend. If not, then stick a fork in it.

Temps will bounce back in a big way this weekend and early next week. That will be followed by bowling ball systems rolling our way next week as we see a stout temp gradient setting up across the state. The models handle these differently, but do suggest some winter weather at some point…
