Good Sunday and welcome to March. The third month of the year is off and running with some very nice weather, but things turn pretty wet for the next few days. That said, the forecast isn’t looking nearly as bad in terms of heavy rain.

Let’s start with the good stuff and that’s our Sunday. Temps warm into the upper 50s to low 60s for the entire state. Skies will be sunny early, but clouds roll in during the afternoon. Get out there and live life to the fullest, folks!

Those clouds are ahead of a lot of rain coming in from tonight through Tuesday. This is courtesy of a slow-moving system that will actually have much more of a southward push than it looked like a few days ago. This still means quote a bit of rain with a general 1″-2″ possible, but the prospects of truly excessive rains are much lower. That threat looks to be farther to our south.

Here’s a look at some of the model forecasts through Wednesday…

The setup for Monday is also one that can bring a few strong storms to parts of western Kentucky. The Storm Prediction Center has a low-end risk out for parts of that region…

Colder air comes in by the end of the week and start of the weekend. There’s even a flake chance during this time. Once beyond that, this pattern can turn downright warm for this time of year. The Ensembles are all over a much above normal setup…

I will have another update later today. Enjoy your first day of March and take care.
