Good Wednesday, everyone. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are targeting the region for the rest of the week and some of these storms may be strong or severe. This repeat storm action is also likely to drop quite a bit of rain through Friday.

Let’s start with what’s out there today. Much milder air is pushing in from the southwest with readings hitting the 60s. A scattered shower or storm will be possible, but the main action arrives from west to east this afternoon and evening. Some of those storms may be strong or severe.

The Storm Prediction Center has a low-end risk for severe storms across parts of Kentucky today…

The threat for strong to severe storms will then push farther east ahead of our front on Thursday…

Outside of the storms, temps could reach the low 70s on a gusty southwesterly wind. Additional strong storms will be possible into Friday as our cold front presses in. Temps should hit the 70s one more time before colder and drier air settles in for the weekend.

I will have updates as needed today and will have the latest on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm. Until then, here are your tracking tools for the day……
