Good Thursday everyone. The most recent chilly air blast will slowly give way to a milder few days. Then the weekend arrives and gives us an even colder shot of air that takes us into the start of next week. That cold air mass may bring the frist something of the season to areas not too far away to our north. Can you guess what I’m talking about?
The short term weather features another chilly start to the day across central and eastern Kentucky. Temps will be near 40 in some areas and the fine folks at the Kentucky Mesonet have you covered with a sampling of morning lows…
Temps will warm quickly today as sunshine and a southwesterly breeze combine to boost readings into the 70s. The 70s will be likely again on Friday as clouds increase ahead of our next cold front that arrives this weekend. There is likely to be some scattered showers and storms popping up Friday afternoon. The front won’t arrive in here until Saturday and it will bring more showers, gusty winds and tanking temps. Take a look at how chilly the European Model is…
Sunday and Monday mornings may feature a full blown frost threat for much of the state as temps hit the 30s. Green thumbs have officially been put on alert.
Oh yea… that air mass may also put spawn the first flakes of the season across the midwest and Great Lakes…
Road trip to Wisconsin this weekend? 😉 Have a terrific Thursday and take care.
But how does the lack of weather balloons in Mexico affect this forecast?
42.6 deg this morn abt 3 deg cooler then yesterday morn,
Ok Chris do think will we can get some of this below normal stuff this winter, I hope this isn’t to soon for these major dips in jet stream, we need these in Dec-Jan time frame, I know it is a little early to speculate?
Tell me this looks good for lots of white stuff around here this winter.
42.8 in Lawrenceburg this morning—39.2 yesterday morning. Either way, nice and crisp for September.
