Good Tuesday to one and all. The temperature ride over the past few days was every bit as dramatic as advertised. From the 70s to the 20s all courtesy of a powerhouse cold front that delivered a lot of rain and a touch of sleet and wet snowflakes.

We have settled into a seasonally cold pattern for the rest of the week and that should continue into the upcoming weekend. Here are some highlights:

– Temps over the next few mornings will be very cold with many areas in the low and mid 20s with some spots possibly hitting the upper teens.

– Highs today will range from 40-45 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Wednesday may be just a few degrees warmer.

– Thursday into the weekend will feature a bit more clouds with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

– There continues to be a lot going on in the atmosphere and it will lead to another storm off the east coast. Exactly where that forms remains to be seen. The European Model shows it off the Carolinasย  by Monday…

Will that low be far enough west to throw some rain our way during that time? That remains to be seen and is something we will follow in the coming days.

The overall pattern continues to head toward a wintry look as we get past Thanksgiving and into early December as the blocking begins to really pick back up.

On a related note… I continue to be impressed with the amount of snow cover showing up across the Northern Hemisphere…

It continues to run well above average and that’s a good thing for those who want plenty of cold air this winter. You can’t have snow without the cold. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
