Good Thursday afternoon, gang. Snow showers and squalls continue to cause issues across the state today. Several spots have already picked up a half to one inch and it snowed hard enough to cover roads for a time. That trend will continue through the afternoon.

An arctic cold front will sweep in here this evening into the overnight. This front will have a band of moderate to heavy snow along it. I’m looking at this setup and wondering if we can get some thundersnow out of it. There’s a lot of lift on the nose of this front and that can sometimes spell thunder and lightning. Winds will also be very gusty and blowing and drifting snow is a good possibility.

Widespread 1″-2″ snows will accompany this band. Local amounts of 3″ will be possible.

A Winter Weather Advisory is now out for much of central and eastern Kentucky…

Warnings

Additional snow showers and flurries will be possible on Friday as arctic air keeps temps in the high teens and low 20s.

More snow is likely over the weekend.

Have a great afternoon and take care.
