Good Monday, everybody. We are in the middle of one heck of a nice spring pattern here in the bluegrass state. Temps are running above normal and will go way above over the next couple of days. That will be ahead of a strong cold front that booms through here later in the week
Temps today will be back into the 70s with a small threat for a shower or thunderstorm.
Tuesday and Wednesday will find readings heading toward 80 degrees on a strong southwesterly wind. Some late day thunderstorms will be possible in the west on Wednesday as our cold front eases eastward. This front may bring some strong storms into the region as it does have quite the temperature contrast to work with…
We may go from 80 degrees on Wednesday to near 50 by Friday. The GFS Ensembles show how the chill shoves the warmth on out of here…
Readings by Saturday morning will likely hit the upper 20s for most areas. Sunshine will return this weekend as temps moderate closer to normal by Sunday.
Have a wonderful Monday and take care.
Getting Sick… Literally SICK from this volatile temp swings.. Can’t it just stay warm………. UGH
I am so anxious and nervous right now. Proud of both the men’s and women’s teams. Go Cards!
This coming Saturday is not a good one to have sub freezing temperatures.
Thanks,Chris. How about some good weather for the spring game! Got tickets but don’t want to freeze to death! ;). Going to enjoy these nice temps while we have them. Have a great Monday, everyone.
Yesterday was the first day the high temperature went over 70 at CVG since October 25th. I looked back at Chris’ blog posts from that warm week and this is wha he had to say that Monday:
“A strong cold front approaches the state from the west later Friday into Saturday. This will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms back in here during this time. The big news will be the drastic turn to cold behind this front and the possibility of getting something rather extreme to happen across the eastern half of the country.”
That ‘something rather extreme’ turned into Sandy.
Already 71 in Frankfort, love this stuff, if the sun stays out should make a run toward upper 70s today?
