Good Wednesday, everybody. Thanks for stopping by KWC and making us your home for all things weather in the bluegrass state. Right on cue, rounds of storms rolled across the region Tuesday evening and a few more will rumble through here today. The storms will be accompanied by a surge of summer air that will come crashing down by the end of the week.

Temps today will range from the upper 70s to low 80s, but many thermometer readings will be dictated by scattered storms. Any boomer that goes up today may contain hail and high winds to go along with heavy rain and dangerous lightning.

Thursday looks like a fantastic day with highs well into the 80s. Gusty southwesterly winds will blow and that will set the stage for a long of strong, possible severe, thunderstorms Thursday night and Friday morning. That action will be along another mega cold front that will drop our temps waaaaaay down. Here’s how the GFS sees this playing out…

Wind will be very gusty as the chill replaces the warmth. Check out how extreme the temp change will be…GFS 3

Temps fall into the 50s behind the front on Friday and may stay there for highs Saturday. Lows may drop close to the freezing mark over the weekend.

Milder breezes will take us closer to normal by Sunday and Monday. That will be ahead of yet another cold push of air that arrives by the middle of next week…

GFS 4

That may be preceded by another round of strong storms.

Have a great day and take care.
