Good Friday, everyone. Our strong cold front will continue to work eastward today as showers and thunderstorms end quickly from west to east. Gusty winds will continue to blow today and will usher in a legitimate chill to the air to kickoff the weekend.
Afternoon readings will range from 50-55 across much of the state as clearing works in. That clearing will set the stage for a cold night ahead of us. The same can be said of Saturday night as temps head toward the lower 30s…
Overzealous green thumbs may be a little on edge over the next few mornings.
We will have quite a bit of sunshine this weekend with highs in the 50s for Saturday and 60s on Sunday. Outside of the chilly mornings, this looks like a pretty good next few days. Temps will warm toward the low and mid 70s by Monday and Tuesday as another cold front approaches from the northwest.
This will deliver another threat for booming thunderstorms by Tuesday night…
Chilly air will then sweep in for the middle of next week. All in all… the next 10 days will average below normal…
Have a great Friday and take care.
Can we seriously end all the Main Stream media Old Hype about Global Warming.. I mean come on look at the maps… Should we really be looking at Cold Air Spilling from the Northern Regions of Canada this time of year of the entire Globe is supposed to be on this ever increasingly dangerous climb in temperature?
Ummmm Virgil as much as I hate to admit it, global warming is alive and well. The data that has been collected over the past century proves that.
I believe the earth goes through this naturally. The part that we play in it is certainly up for debate.
You must really think, how consistent is the data? How much integrity does data actually have a century ago heck even 20 years ago compared to the level of technology that our data possesses today.. Can you even trust the data collected today due to all the politics behind the data collected and who collects them. Its suspect at best when in the 80’s they were harping about global cooling to all of a sudden expect us to believe that now its global warming? What next, Global Drying, Global Wetting..
The average temp for Lexington for April is ABOVE normal through 4/18 🙂
Sounds like dogwood winter is upon us to me. Thanks, Chris. I sure am glad that the storms died down overnight. Wasn’t looking forward to being up in the middle of the night because of severe storms.
Looks like the weekend will turn out to be a pretty one, too. That is okay with me!
Have a GREAT Friday, everyone.
I had to drive an ambulance in the middle of a storm as it came through Danville. No lightning really, but gusty winds and pouring rain. I hit a slick spot and nearly crashed. 🙁
Looks like a late tomato planting this year, My father always said wait until after derby day to start tomato plants, looks like it will be atleast May this year before the last cold spells end 🙁
I’m actually liking this. Haven’t run heat or air for nine days. It gets down to about 66 or 67 in the house on the chilly mornings, but then I can open the blinds and the sun warms it up to 72-73 in the afternoon. On the warm days, I keep the blinds closed and it might make it up to 75-76, perfectly manageable with ceiling fans!
I will be planting tomatoes tomorrow
“Trained spotter” reported sleet fell this evening at the Cincinnati Reds game. Ridiculous.
Also, kudos to Boston and MA police as well as the FBI.
Briefly sleeted in Mount Sterling just now.
