Good Saturday to one and all. Our weekend is here and things are starting off on a very chilly note across the bluegrass state. This cold air mass continues to trend of an overall pattern that’s been skewed colder than normal since late February. Guess what? We have another blast of cold on the way later next week.
Temps to start today and Sunday will be down on the frosty cold side of things with low 30s. Highs today will only hit the low and middle 50s under partly sunny skies. Low to mid 60s will be with us on Sunday.
Temps make a run toward 70 for Monday and Tuesday as winds begin to gust up. Those winds will be ahead of another strong cold front that brings showers and thunderstorms back to us by Tuesday night and early Wednesday. Check out the chill coming in behind this front by Wednesday Morning…
Readings may end up being similar to what we’ve had over the past 24 hours. We won’t be alone with the below normal readings…
The pattern will become ripe for a big time storm to roll across the Ohio Valley by next weekend or into the following week. The European Model likes the end of next weekend…
Have a great day and take care.
Thanks, Chris. At least it us going to be a pretty day. I will be glad when it decides to stay warm . Just hope it doesn’t go straight to hot. But I am afraid that is what will happen. Have a great Saturday, everyone. We are going to the spring game at Lindsey Wilson this afternoon. It’s a great day for football!
30 in Lawrenceburg, KY this morning with a frost on the rooftops, cars, etc. Didn’t see any on the ground. Though surprised temps went below freezing, given I didn’t see any forecasts to indicate that would be the case.
At least this is not unusual. The average date of the last freeze in this area is April 17.
Coffeeady,
Temps won’t have much of a choice but to go straight to hot. lol We have held on to the cold so long, that it will be hot weather time before it gets out of here.
I disagree with this. As of 4/19 the average temp for April in Lexington is more than 3 degrees above normal. I think we have had hot weather too early.
Agreed I was worried about this summer based on the past couple weeks
I don’t think it’s been that bad cold a little cool of the morning but by afternoon it’s been pretty nice.a little to wet but its spring good for the ground but temps no biggie.
Not been that bad last couple weeks. When it started warming up towards the first of the month, weathers been bout normal. These little small cooldowns are normal. Dogwood, redbud, couple other little winters. Still got black berry winter to go too. Thats coming in may i think but i could be wrong.
If things get out of hand glad we have all the weather guys/gsls to keep us informed.
I just hope we don’t have a June Bug Winter spell 😉
