Good Monday, weather lovers. Temps are finally warming up out there today, but this isn’t a trend that’s going to last very long. Another strong cold front is going to sweep across the region by the middle of the week and it will usher in another round of spring chill. Yippee!
Skies will be mainly sunny with thermometer readings hitting the upper 60s to low 70s on this Earth Day . Tuesday will be even warmer with most temps in the 70-75 degree range. Winds will become gusty and clouds will increase ahead of our cold front that arrives on the scene by Tuesday night.
That front will produce a line of showers and thunderstorms and that shows up well on the NAM…
A few of the storms may be strong… especially across the west. Temps will come crashing down as the front passes and may not get out of the upper 40s and low 50s on Wednesday afternoon.
Colder than normal air will hang around for Thursday and Friday and we may even deal with a weak system diving in from the northwest.
A moisture laden system will work in for the weekend and will likely produce showers and thunderstorms…
Heavy rainfall is possible by Saturday and Sunday.
Have a great day and take care.
please no rain this weekend!!! its Rolex!! and I have to be out in it!
oh, and yes, that was my house that got struck by lightening last Tuesday. we are all fine. I was a little miffed that WKYT did not show up at my door like the other 2 news channels did. 😉 I was in bed about to watch Chris Bailey and right at 11 BAM!!! the lights went out. I told the gal that was asking me questions if it were ok that during my interview I said that I was about to watch the best MET around. and she gave me the stink eye! I guess that was a no?
thanks, Chris. Wishing we could get a couple of days with normal temps and sunshine at the same time…Or more than a couple of days, I guess I should say. In any event, I am going to enjoy todays weather and tomorrows, as that looks to be the closest to normal temps we are gonna get for a bit. But, as I have said before, dogwoods are in full bloom, so the cool down is not really a surprise to me. It is just dogwood winter. Hopefully, after that, the warm will come and stay for a while. Have a great Monday, everyone.
The cold snaps in early spring are not brought on by some magical spell of a flowering tree. It’s just a normal April thing. 😉
Maybe not, but… they always come when the flowering trees are in full bloom. That is how the little winters got their names.
Love the higher than predicted temps, 74 in Frankfort, high was suppose to be around 68, come on warm weather it’s your time now 🙂
Any days where the low is 40-50 and the high is 65-75 are good days in my opinion. On day eleven with no heat or air. My record is 16 days. I might break it 🙂
You gotta love it !!
