Good Tuesday to one and all. Another strong cold front is about to sweep across the bluegrass state and bring similar conditions to the ones before it. Stop if you’ve heard this one before… warm temps will give way to a line of showers and storms with cold air to follow. It’s basically a rinse and repeat of a weather pattern.

Temps today will soar into the low and middle 70s for most areas. Winds will pick up as afternoon clouds roll in from the west. This action is along and ahead of our cold front that arrives on the scene later tonight into Wednesday. The simulated radar from the NAM shows the timing of the line…

Some of the storms may be strong across the west later this evening, but the overall severe threat is fairly low across the state.

Temps on Wednesday will tank into the upper 40s and low 50s on a colder wind pushing in behind the front. Thursday will see a mix of sun and clouds with a small shot at an instability shower with highs from 55-60 degrees.

The next system rolling in for the weekend may throw a late day shower or thunderstorm at us by Friday. The slow moving low pressure is likely to mean rounds of heavy rain and thunder for the weekend. The European Model is super slow with this bad boy…

EuroIf that model verifies… it’s a nasty weather weekend ahead of us.

Make it a terrific Tuesday and take care.
