Good  Thursday to one and all. Colder than normal weather blasted back in here on Wednesday and will hang around through today. This chill in the air will give way to some milder stuff for the weekend, but there’s a catch. The threat for showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase.

Today will find some areas starting off with a touch of frost and temps in the 30s. A mix of sun and clouds will boost afternoon readings into the mid and upper 50s. A weak disturbance will dive in from the northwest and this may produce a pop up shower or some sprinkles… especially in the north.

Friday looks pretty good with temps back into the 60s under partly sunny skies. That’s when we turn our attention toward a slow moving system for the weekend. This will bring an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms for Saturday into Sunday…

GFS

Heavy rainfall will be a good possibility with the showers and storms over the weekend. Temps should run in the 60s for highs.

After a big warm up early next week, another powerful front will march our way by later Wednesday…

GFS 2

That could lead to strong or severe thunderstorms. The trough digging in behind that front is going to try to cut off in time for Kentucky Derby weekend…

GFS 3Let’s hope that isn’t the case.

Make it a great Thursday and take care.
