Good morning, gang. A quick update on the thundersnow rolling across eastern and southeastern Kentucky. Yep… thunder and lightning is being reported in many areas as the heavy snow band works through.
Snow showers are picking back up across the rest of the region. Full update a little later. Take care.
Ha! Just the teensiest bit of snow in Louisville … at least not at our house near the intersection of the Watterson and US 42/22! But the arctic blast is definitely arriving.
I’m off Hubbards Lane…..which has zero ice, like nearly evefy road in St. Matthews right now..oh, and no snow either.
Very short post, but thanks Chris anyway! Here in my part of Lex we got about an inch and roads in my area are half covered in snow. Am sooooo thankful that we at LEAST got an inch, was only expecting a dusting because almost everyone else did. I was going to complain and bash on but thought twice, most others only got dustings to no accumulation and would’ve wished they had an inch. And no, I’m not bragging either.
Just trying to make the world a better place one comment at a time…..
I have about 1/2″ here in Bowling Green. Steady snow showers have been ongoing for several hours and will probably continue for most of the next 24 hours, at least, according to Chris’s forecast and the model runs he has recently posted. I think the nearly the whole state will have more than 1″ by this time tomorrow. The majority of us will probably have closer to 2″ or more if it keeps snowing like this for that long. I think we all have way more hours of snow shower activity ahead of us with this event, than the number of hours we have so far endured. Lots of black ice on the roads here even though I have seen countless trucks out treating the roads.
Yep, had some thunder with the snow. Coming down pretty good and sticking to everything.
Wooooooooooooo!
Bout 3/4 of an inch in northern Pulaski. Looks like we may squeeze out another 1/4 inch if that narrow band of fluffy stuff holds together.
Thunder snow and almost 2″ of snow already in Middlesboro. Still pouring.
It has been blizzard like conditions here in Laurel Co. Snow blowing around with the wind is wicked right now.
Had to go out and bring in my turned over trash can. It was so tough stuff out there. I felt like I was walking out into the North Pole. LOL
