Good Friday, everyone. Additional showers and storms will rumble across the bluegrass state today as a strong cold front presses in. Once the front finally clears the state from west to east this afternoon, the severe weather threat will diminish.
Some headlines before I get your tracking tools…
– Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threat from the early day storms. Isolated tornadoes are a possibility.
– Heavy rainfall will continue to cause the threat for flooding. Keep a close eye on the creeks and streams.
– Cooler and drier air sweeps in from west to east late today. Temps by Saturday morning will hit the low 30s with 50s for highs.
– Sunday looks good with temps rebounding into the 60s with clouds on the increase. Those clouds are ahead of another heavy rain and thunderstorm maker for Monday.
Let’s get to tracking today’s threat…

Enjoy the day and take care.
Creeks and streams are running high around here. I’d say this last line of storms will push them over the banks.
Hail in Pine Knot. Heavy lightning
well that wasn’t to bad at all
Lots of steady rain overnight.Looks to be a dreary day.I am thankful there hasn’t been tornadoes.Quiet a bit of wind at times.Seems our Laurel county weather cam may have gotten blown around a bit.
I am teaching myself to be happy with any weather that isn’t causing destruction. So many storms that cause a lot of damage it seems.
Hope everyone enjoys their Friday.
Humm,London camera seems to be back in place now.
Still cloudy but rain has stopped for now.Winds are picking back up.
Nice soaking spring rain here in Carrie of knott co, nothing severe, this rain will set the blooms in motion big time
Today feels like such a beautiful day! Garden variety showers around, sun pokes out of the clouds while some moderate rain falls and a cool breeze and not so chilly temperatures. Love it, it sure looks and feels like spring out there!
Love the picture from Paducah with the trees in bloom beside the interstate. I can’t wait to see everything in full bloom here!
Other than some flooding, small hail, and some stronger winds and/or lightning causing some damage and power issues, looks like our area came out relatively well.
NWS Nashville confirms 80 mph straight-line winds in Rutherford County TN that among other things unroofed a carwash.

NWS Paducah is looking at a possible short-lived twister in southern Illinois. Some reports of isolated and apparently weak twisters (subject to further confirmation), along with some baseball size hail [ouch! 😉 ] in Missouri.
