Good Thursday, everyone. Many areas are waking up to frost and, in a few cases, freezing temperatures. This is a sign of things to come as we have a hard freeze on the way for the coming weekend. That’s when our temperatures should be able to drop fairly deep into the 20s.
Highs today will be near 60 in the west with mid to upper 50s elsewhere. Skies stay sunny.
Veterans Day looks very windy, but nice with 30s to start and upper 50s for highs. Those winds are ahead of a push of colder air for the weekend. Lows by Saturday morning drop into the upper 20s into central and northern Kentucky…
Saturday’s highs will be in the upper 40s in the east to the mid 50s in the far west. A widespread freeze takes place Saturday night into Sunday morning…
This is where we find a disturbance in the weather force. The Canadian and European Models both develop a small cutoff low across the region later Sunday into Monday. This could produce some clouds and scattered showers, and keep temps on the pretty chilly side of things.
The Canadian…
The European Model…
There’s a chance that system starts showing up a little stronger on the models in the next few days.
A much bigger storm will roll across the country by the end of next week and I will talk more about that system later today.
I leave you with the 2 week snowfall forecast from individual members of the GFS Ensembles…
You can see how a nice split showing up with half showing a chance of snow during that time and the other half saying not so fast.
Enjoy your day and take care.
First freeze in Harlan this morning. It was suppose to be around 35 but I awoke to 30 this morning with a real deal frost on everything!
Good to see normal temps around before it goes above average again next week. supposed to be 70 by next Wednesday here in my next of woods western,ky.
29 this morning in northern Jessamine when I woke up this morning. It looked like it had snowed outside with all the frost.
We got down to 28 this morning
A neighbor a few houses away said their kids were swimming in their outdoor pool a few days ago and especially at the beginning of the month! In November. Crazy!
But even they are looking to soon close their pool for the season. It was not so long ago that a snowstorm dumped eight inches of snow on Nashville. Perhaps some frost tomorrow morning for Nashville and then again for this weekend.
