Good Saturday and welcome to the last weekend of February. It’s actually feeling the part out there today, just one day removed from what is likely the hottest winter day in our states recorded history. Today’s cold won’t last very long, but it appears to be a warning shot of colder times as we roll into March. 🙁

Today will be roughly 40 degrees colder than our Friday as temps stay in the upper 30s to low 40s. Northwesterly winds will make it feel much colder than that. Throw in some snow flurries and you have a true winter feel to a spring looking landscape…

Temps by Sunday morning drop into the middle and upper 20s for many, but a nice recovery takes place during the afternoon. Upper 40s to low 50s should be common for highs. Sunday actually looks like a pretty good weather day.

Clouds roll in Sunday night and Monday with scattered showers a good possibility. Highs can make a run at 60 degrees for many.

This sets the stage for another big system to impact our weather late Tuesday into Wednesday. The stage appears to be set for another potential severe weather and heavy rain maker…

GFS 2

GFS Rain 2

This signal has been pretty strong for a while and is definitely something for us to watch closely.

Much colder air then surges in here behind that system with a clipper trying to dive in here by Friday…

GFS 3

The models are very bullish on a more important system working in here late next weekend. Looks a lot like winter…

GFS 4

This is a very ugly looking setup as we roll into March and that’s not good for those of us spoiled by spring in winter. The signals are strong for some ugly in the weeks ahead and this will be the one time the GFS 2 week snowfall map is right…

See you all later today. Have a great Saturday and take care.
