Good Tuesday, folks. We continue to roll along with a very nice fall pattern, but changes continue to show up later in the week. These changes will bring an increased threat for showers and storms, to go along with a big dip in the jet stream coming early next week.
Speaking of rain chances, there is a slight chance for a shower or storm to go up today across the west…
Temps range from the upper 70s to near 80 for many, with a low 80 possible in the west and south.
Wednesday will find similar conditions across the state, as we start to focus on a late week cold front. This front makes a run at us on Thursday, bringing a slight chance for a shower or storm. That may carry us into Friday, especially in the west and north.
Some tropical juice from the Gulf then tries to lift to the north later this weekend. That can bring a better chance for showers and storms, especially in the east. The GFS shows this and a more powerful front early next week…
That’ s a nice shot of chill still targeted to arrive behind that front.
The same model run Is also showing a bigger push of chill following that up…
The overall pattern is about to go from 0 to 60 across our part of the world. It wouldn’t surprise me if October finishes up normal or above normal in the rain category. I’m gonna continue to throw out the potential for a busier than normal second severe weather season.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
Be glad when the tropical pattern ends, it seems it’s taken all the moisture out of the air when these fronts comes thru our part of world. I live western part of state it doesn’t looks like were going any of that rain if the track holds up as Chris has stated.
Chris, am I band now from the forum ? None of my comments are getting posted. Please let me know why via e-mail. Thank you. SLS
Thanks
Thanks
One could wish
I guess not. I posted two detailed comments this morning. None went through. Wonder why ?
You have reached your limit.
I said the other day I was sorry, please get this riff behind us, so we can move on, and have discussions on weather OK ? thanks
That’s what you do you say dumb things and then say sorry over and over again. After so long people just get plain out sick and tired of your bs.
No…Thank You.
Very sorry, that all of you will not accept my apologies I made on 23rd of September concerning Teachers and snow days. I don’t know what I can say to convince everyone that I made a mistake in making this insensitive remark. I just wish we could all be friends here on Chris Bailey’s blog. Please tell me what I need to do to make this happen. It’s just not this remark it’s others, and I apologize for all of those too. I make mistakes, I am human. So how bout it ? Will you all except me or not as a fellow commentator ? Thank you and God Bless, and here’s hoping all of you will.
Thanks
Beautiful day here, but we need rain. Scared, the forest wild fires may start if it gets windy and dryer.
Thanks
Just saw my first wooly worm scooting across my driveway…it was completely brown… Which means mild winter correct?
I have now seen both a black band wooly one and a brown band one within a couple of weeks of each other. I guess that means Kentucky is on the fence again for a mild or severe winter. Sounds typical.
forgot to insert wider black band and wider brown band…
My dad said he seen a black one…so I guess there is a mixture this year lol
Houston breaks all-time annual rainfall record this morning
Completely, brown woolly worms means the winter will be mild. A black woolly worms means the winter will be cold. All weather folk lore. However, back in the Autumn of 1969 I found a black woolly worm and there was a spoon inside a persimmon seed, shoveling snow. That winter turn out to be cold and very snowy through March 1970. This goes to show you, that sometimes natural signs are right.
Thanks
