Good Tuesday, everyone. We are just about to kick off the super-duper long holiday weekend, and we are doing so tracking two cold fronts. As expected, these fronts are going to bookend the big weekend. Giddy up.

The first front arrives tonight, but gusty winds are cranking out ahead of it. Gusts today may reach 30mph at times in a few areas.

Clouds increase later in the day as temps hit the 50s. Those clouds are ahead of a cold front to sweep in here Tuesday night and may produce some rain or snow showers in the north. The GFS and European Models are carbon copies…

So, a little touch of rain and snow is possible tonight across the north. That’s something the models had several days ago, then lost, and are now finding just hours ahead of time. It’s what models do, folks.

Much colder air then sweeps in here for the busiest travel day of the year. The day starts in the 20s and ends with upper 30s and low 40s. Skies will stay dry across the entire region, so that’s perfect for travelers.

Thanksgiving Day will be a seasonally cold one with lows deep in the 20s, with afternoon temps hitting the 40s.  Wind chills to start the day may hit the upper teens in a few spots…

The turkey is dry this year. 😉

Black Friday shoppers will face upper 20s early in the morning, but low 50s show up in the afternoon. Again, things are dry.

The next front arrives on Saturday with very gusty winds and the chance for a shower or two. Much colder air then spills in behind this for Sunday and Monday…

The northwesterly wind flow may produce a few flurries across the central and east on Sunday.

As mentioned in prior posts, temps recover quickly behind this, but another deep trough swings in by the middle of next week…

This is a very amplified pattern that continues to take shape through the rest of November. That means a continuation of cold front pushing through here every few days.

Updates later today. Make it a good one and take care.
