Good afternoon, folks. It’s a windy, but gorgeous day in the bluegrass state as we await the arrival of a cold front later tonight. That front knocks our temps way down to begin the long holiday weekend, with additional fronts arriving in the next week or so.

Winds today are hitting 30mph or greater in several areas with highs in the 50s. The front moves in tonight and may spit out a rain or snow shower in the north…

Cold winds blow behind this front, with wind chills taking a dive by Wednesday morning. Teens may show up in some areas of central and western Kentucky…

The busy travel day looks dry, but much colder than normal. Highs will generally range from the upper 30s to low 40s…

My Thanksgiving thoughts remain the same with 20s to start and 40s to end. A few clouds will stream across our skyline, but things look pretty nice to go along with the seasonal chill.

Black Friday shoppers will face upper 20s in the morning and low 50s in the afternoon. Winds are going to gust up as some late day clouds increase. Those clouds are ahead of a cold front moving in on Saturday. That front may touch off a scattered shower, but winds will likely crank.

The shot of cold coming in behind this arrives Sunday…

Any flake potential with that depends on the exact wind flow from the northwest.

That cold shot gets pushed out quickly early next week because another cold front is ready to take its place by Wednesday…

This is a heck of a setup with cold fronts diving in every few days or so. As we inch toward December, climatology suggests clippers are going to influence our weather more and more. My analog years strongly support the clipper idea this winter. 🙂

I will try to update things this evening, but can’t make a promise today. Plus, I have to get to work on tonight’s highly anticipated annual post. “Those aren’t pillows!!!!” 🙂

Have a great one and take care.
