Good evening, folks. Our slow-moving band of snow continues to slowly sink toward the southeast, with individual snow band working from southwest to northeast. This action is so heavy in the west that a Winter Storm Warning has now been issued.

Here’s a look at the warning in the west…

Some areas are already pushing 6″ in the west and can easily pick up a few more inches.

Does this overachiever continue to the east?

A Winter Weather Advisory continues for the rest of state for a general 1″-3″ snowfall. Moderate to heavy bands of snow are embedded within the overall snow shield, and will likely lead to some areas of 4″+ showing up through Tuesday.

One area to watch for an extension to the overachiever is from the Lexington bluegrass region, southwest toward the Bowling Green region. Another area will be in the southeastern mountains, but that doesn’t happen until Tuesday. Again, southeastern Kentucky won’t get much until Tuesday into Tuesday evening.

Roads will become snow covered, especially as temps plummet behind the arctic front. Single digit temps show up for some by early Tuesday, with falling temps for most throughout the day.

We could sneak below zero by Wednesday morning.

Let’s get you back to the tracking toys…
