Good evening, folks. Old Man Winter continues to barrel toward the bluegrass state, with crashing temps and snow showers developing later tonight. This takes us into a setup that provides us with several snow chances over the next week.

The big upper level system is diving into the state from the northwest, bringing gusty winds and a band of showers ahead of it. As that initial band moves through, temps crash as snow showers and squalls develop…

The snow showers and squalls arriving later tonight and lasting through the next few days have been well advertised here, so there’s no reason to rehash it all.

The system later Friday is showing up well on the European Model. It’s show my swath of light snow…

It’s also showing the Sunday system, but keeps the main impact across southern Kentucky…

Again, we need to be on guard for more of a phased system. If that happens, it ups the ante for a bigger storm around here. That’s what the GFS keeps showing…

Looking farther down the road, the cold shots keep coming at us on the GFS Ensembles…

That’s disheartening. We have a while before we can get to true spring.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
