Good Wednesday, folks. It’s a windy and warmer day out there, but a cold front is ready to change that up later tonight. This up and down temperature setup may be followed by a setup that is much closer to normal than we have been in a while. I think… Maybe.

Highs today are in the 70s for much of the region on a strong southwesterly wind flow. This is ahead of a cold front rolling in from the northwest this evening. That will have a broken band of showers and storms with it…

Winds are going to be very gusty as much colder air sweeps back in here Wednesday night. Lows will drop into the 30s with an outside shot at a few flurries early Thursday. Afternoon temps only hit the 40s for many across the eastern half of the state, with 50s west.

This sets the stage for ANOTHER freeze coming by Friday morning…

The forecast from this point doesn’t look too bad as we head into the weekend. Temps on Friday stay in the mid and upper 50s, but the sun looks to return. Saturday and Sunday will see some clouds on the increase as temps come rise toward the 60s, but may still be a bit below normal.

A slow-moving storm system will then roll across the south and has a chance to throw some showers our way by later Sunday or Monday. It will be a close call…

Once that moves through, a deepening trough is going to try and dig into the eastern half of the country by the middle of next week…

That could bring another round of chilly temps in here. Sigh.

Make it a great day and take care.
