Good Friday, folks. We have finally made it to the end of the week, with the weekend just hours away from officially beginning. Much of that weekend forecast is looking pretty good, but there’s some ugly ready to roll back in here late in the weekend into much of next week.
Let’s break down the Good… The Bad… and The Ugly.
The GOOD
Sunny skies will be noted today and through much of Saturday. Highs this afternoon hit the upper 50s and low 60s for much of the state. Highs should reach the low and middle 60s on Saturday.
The BAD
Clouds will thicken up Saturday night into early Sunday. Rain arrives across the west and south by late Sunday. Temps will still be in decent shape ahead of the rain, with 60-65 before the drops fall.
The UGLY
Two slow-moving systems will roll across our part of the world through much of next week. That means the potential for rounds of showers and gusty winds…
Temps will also continue to be cooler than normal through next week…
If we look down the road toward the last few days of April into the start of May, the trend continues to look chilly. The 5 day average departures on the European Ensembles…
Have a wonderful Friday and take care.
I just don’t get how the models tend to be iffy at times on snow, yet for late-season cold snaps, they are so accurate.
Temperatures cover more real estate than precipitation, therefore meteorologist forecast are more accurate on timing temperature changes.
When will it ever end?
It never really ends. The weather just keeps going on and on and so do we.
Thanks Chris for the update. If it stays mild, I won’t mind a few clouds and late April showers. The heat and humidity can’t be to far down the road ?
Correction: too far down the road ? I type too fast for my aging mind. Have a great day everyone.
Thanks Chris. That just kind of sums up our whole weather picture since last fall… mostly ugly with just enough nice mixed in to keep
Is hoping….I sure hope when we close the books on April that May will treat us better! Have a wonderful Friday everyone! Enjoy the good while we’ve got it!
How I would trade these below average April temps for below average July temps… Sigh.
We have been in this abnormal weather funk here in Kentucky since 2012.
Sigh…that sums it all up in a word.
I shouldn’t complain with 60s in the forecast, but when approaching May, 60s are chilly and also need to subside to about Halloween!
I could do with a little less rain. But I could take the 60’s all Summer. No 70 or higher would be great.
