Good evening and welcome to the final weekend of April. We are ending the month with a good looking sky, but the temps could be better. The numbers drop over the next few days, with the potential for frost and a light freeze. From there, May looks to start with soaring temps and the increasing threat for thunderstorms.

Speaking of, isolated showers and storms may be noted this evening, but most stay dry…

This is with a cold front dropping in from the north, ushering in a late April chill to the air. Highs this weekend will be well below normal and may struggle to get to 60 in some areas…

There is a tiny chance for a shower on Saturday, especially in the east. Much of the weekend will feature a great looking sky.

A GREEN THUMB ALERT is out for Sunday morning as temps drop toward freezing or below…

Another kiss of frost is likely Sunday night with temps dropping into the middle 30s for many.

After this, temps take off. Highs on Monday reach the low 70s, with 80 degree highs possible by Tuesday. This strong southwest flow is really going to boost our temps. Don’t be surprised if we hit the middle 80s by Wednesday and Thursday. The models are trending in this direction…

Humidity levels will also increase, leading to the threat for showers and storms. Storm chances increase by the end of the week and into Kentucky Derby Weekend…

Some of the storms may be strong or severe.

Enjoy the rest of your evening and take care.
