Good Sunday, everyone. Better weather is slowly pressing into the state today as we get ready for a small break in our stormy and wet pattern. Take full advantage of later today into Monday because more heavy rain and storms kick back in after that.

Our day begins with heavy rain across southeastern Kentucky and that may lead to some minor high water issues. Skies slowly become partly sunny this afternoon from west to east as temps make a run at the low 70s west and the mid 60s east.

Here are your early Sunday rain trackers…

Monday looks great with partly sunny skies and temps reaching the upper 70s to low 80s across the Commonwealth. Similar temps will be noted on Tuesday as scattered showers and storms return. This kicks off a pattern that will likely throw repeat rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms into our region. This could be a fairly widespread event taking shape…

Temps after that will likely begin to skew cooler than normal, but the wetter than normal pattern looks to continue. The European Seasonal goes through the middle of June and has much of the country wet…

That’s a cool looking pattern for much of the country at the same time…

That little bit of warmer than normal on the east coast is mainly because temps will be very warm this week, with cooler air following.

Anyone wanting a hot and dry summer should probably go ahead and move. Those have become a thing of the past around here. 🙂

Have a great Sunday and take care.
