Good evening, folks. We have some rain rolling across Kentucky, with more to come later tonight and Thursday. That’s ahead of a big temperature crash and the potential for some snowflakes showing up before the day is finished. After that, the focus is on a better snow threat early next week.

I mentioned the showers pushing through the area, here are your tracking tools…

The rain will increase overnight into Thursday morning, with better than a half inch totals for many. Temps crash from northwest to southeast quickly during the day with a little light snow or a mix of rain and snow on the back edge of the rain. Nothing will stick, but it’s a sign of the early winter times we are in.

Frigid temps come in here Thursday night through Saturday morning.

Our attention then goes toward the arctic front moving in on Monday. This will bring a winter weather and snow threat to our region as a wave of low pressure develops along the front. Here’s the afternoon run of the European Model…

That actually has snow falling all the way into parts of the deep south, too.

The European Ensembles aren’t shy about the snow potential…

The temps behind this are crazy cold for the first part of November and could even flirt with a few records next week.

I’ll be back later tonight with your full update. Until then, make it a good one and take care.
