Temps are heading toward the &#8220;hot&#8221; category over the next couple of days as July weather takes over. The hot weather will come crashing down as we head into the weekend as rounds of showers and storms come calling.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today will hit the mid to upper 80s for much of the state and that will carry us into Thursday. Can one of the traditional toasty thermometers hit 90? Very possible.<\/p>\n<p>A cold front will move closer to the region by Friday and this means showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase from west to east. Those storm chances will be with us into Saturday as the cold front slows down&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Euro-21.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10007\" alt=\"Euro 2\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Euro-21.png\" width=\"339\" height=\"840\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Euro-21.png 339w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Euro-21-121x300.png 121w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It won&#8217;t rain the whole weekend and I do expect some dry hours on Mother&#8217;s Day, but you may need a plan B to be safe.
