Good Friday to one and all. Scattered storms have been common across the state this week and I think this is just the beginning. I am seeing a rather stormy pattern taking shape over the next few weeks and it’s likely to persist through much of June.<\/p>\n

A cold front is working across the state today and will put the brakes on across the Tennessee Valley tonight and Saturday. Scattered showers and storms will continue to rumble ahead of this today.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This front will bring some drier air across much of central and eastern Kentucky into Saturday. The south and west will continue to run the risk of scattered storms. Highs will be back in the 80s, but the muggy factor won’t be as great in the north.<\/p>\n

The muggy air returns by Sunday and it will bring the potential for scattered storms…<\/p>\n

\"GFS<\/a>That is being pushed by some very juicy air. Dewpoint temps may hit the low to middle 70s by the middle of the week…<\/p>\n

\"GFS<\/a><\/p>\n

As that moisture surges in, a cold front stalls out across the Ohio Valley by the second half of next week…<\/p>\n

\"GFS<\/a>That will lead to the potential for some big time thunderstorms during this time. That tropical air should be able to produce some very heavy rain numbers. Speak of big rain numbers, Check out the GFS rainfall forecast over the next few weeks…<\/p>\n

\"GFS<\/a>Notice all the juice down in the Gulf? Tropical development or not… tropical rains will be surging northward in this pattern.<\/p>\n
