Much needed rainfall is on the way to the bluegrass state over the next several days. Low pressure working in from west to east will bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms through the upcoming weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s weather will find us in similar fashion to the past few days. Highs will hit the mid and upper 80s for central and eastern Kentucky with 90ish across the west. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be floating around and will increase from west to east late.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current temperatures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kymesonet.org\/wxmaps\/tair_f_large.png?nowtime=1325915126\" width=\"479\" height=\"208\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our low pressure moves in on Friday with showers and thunderstorms becoming widespread during the day. That action looks to continue into Friday night and early Saturday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/NAM1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10675\" alt=\"NAM\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/NAM1.png\" width=\"396\" height=\"387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/NAM1.png 396w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/NAM1-300x293.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Low pressure working due east across the Ohio Valley in early August isn&#8217;t something you see very often. It will continue to spit out a few rounds of showers and storms into early next week.
