<\/FONT>Good Friday everyone and welcome to the weekend. It’s a weekend that features a weather pattern that looks more like one you would see in the winter months as opposed to the start of October. We have a deep trough engulfing much of the eastern half of the country and it has a ton of cold air to work with.

We have a lot of weather to talk about, so let’s get cracking.

– Today will start out on a windy and chilly note with partly cloudy skies. Temps will be in the upper 40s to low 50s early and warm into the mid and upper 50s north and east with 60s west and far south.

– Clouds and showers will quickly increase this afternoon and evening from northwest to southeast. Winds will continue to crank with gusts of 30mph possible. Evening temps will drop into the upper 40s.

– Showers will continue across the eastern half of the state overnight into the first half of Saturday. The highest<\/STRONG> elevations in far southeastern Kentucky may see some wet snowflakes mixing in during this time. Yes… I said WET SNOWFLAKES<\/FONT><\/STRONG>!

– Readings early Saturday will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. Afternoon highs will range from near 50 in the far east to 60 in the far west.

– FROST THREAT<\/FONT><\/STRONG> Sunday Morning. Temps will hit the low and mid 30s for much of the state with the traditional cold spots making a run toward the upper 20s.

– Temps by Sunday afternoon will warm into the mid and upper 50s east to low and mid 60s west. Monday morning will likely see readings back into the 30s.

– Indian Summer is then likely to surge in here for most of next week as highs head back toward the 70s by Tuesday.
