Our weekend is wrapping up with a strong cold front pushing across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This is a windy front with a scattering of showers and thunderstorms ahead of it and another shot of chilly air behind it.<\/p>\n<p>Today will not be a washout as the showers and storms will be scattered about the region. Winds will be very gusty and could top 35-40mph at times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current Temperatures<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kymesonet.org\/wxmaps\/tair_f_large.png?nowtime=1325915126\" alt=\"\" width=\"479\" height=\"208\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps will drop very quickly as the front passes this from northwest to southeast this evening. That will set the stage for temps to take a big tumble tonight and into Monday morning. A sprawling high pressure from Canada is the culprit&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/NAM-31.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10992\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/NAM-31.png\" alt=\"NAM 3\" width=\"439\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/NAM-31.png 439w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/NAM-31-300x293.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 439px) 100vw, 439px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0Readings will drop toward the low and mid 40s in a few spots by early Monday. A few clouds may develop during the day and that acts to keep the numbers down. Near normal temps and mainly dry skies look to rule our region.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still watching the Gulf of Mexico and the models keep stringing me along.
