Much cooler air pushed into the region this weekend giving us a bit of a nip to the air. Speaking of a nip… a few of our tender plants may get “nipped” this morning by some frost.

Temps in the low and mid 30s will be common across the state to begin our day with a few areas likely going below freezing. You can track the lowest temps here…

You can also report your morning lows… that is if you were actually up early enough to check those out.

Sunny skies will be with us yet again today with highs hitting the upper 50s to lower 60s. Winds will be a tad brisk yet again.

Monday will see more of the same with a chilly start and afternoon temps heading toward the low and middle 60s with more in the way of sunshine. A weak low pressure will be working across the southern states Tuesday into Wednesday and will try to throw some clouds our way. This MAY come far enough north to bring a few showers into the far southern counties. Readings into the 60s should be common once again.

Much warmer air will finally move back in here by Thursday into Friday as southwesterly winds really crank up ahead of what may become a powerful plains low pressure. Highs will reach the 70s Thursday with 80 + possible by Friday.

I mention the plains storm because it has a good shot at throwing up rounds of showers and thunderstorms our way by later Friday into Saturday. This may also FINALLY bring a sizeable severe weather outbreak across the country during this time. Here is how the setup looks on the European Model for Saturday morning…

If THAT setup doesn’t produce severe weather in the plains… storm chasers should just go ahead and call it a season and stop wasting gas money.

Have a great Sunday and take care.

Good Sunday everyone.
