We have FINALLY broken our streak of ugly weather days here in the bluegrass state. Today will turn out to be one of the best days of the entire fall with sun and mild temps. Here&#8217;s a piece of friendly advice&#8230; enjoy it. We have a lot of chill pushing back in for the weekend and that remains into next week. Some more of the ugly may join the mix again.<\/p>\n<p>Temps today will likely hit 70 for much of the region under a partly sunny sky. Winds will pick up and a few clouds will increase this evening ahead of a sharp cold front due in for Saturday. Temps will drop, winds will increase and we run the risk of a few showers as the boundary arrives.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the chilly look&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11227\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS7.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"412\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS7.png 412w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS7-300x186.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px\" \/><\/a>High temps should stay in the 50-55 degree range for many. Skies clear late in the evening and that allows temps to take a dive toward the low 30s by Sunday morning. Frost is likely. Highs that afternoon will hit the mid and upper 50s with sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>The next system works in late Monday and hangs around into Tuesday with showers on the increase&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-27.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11225\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-27.png\" alt=\"GFS 2\" width=\"605\" height=\"557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-27.png 605w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-27-300x276.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/a>That has some ugly with that as this wraps up into a bigger storm across the east coast by the middle of the week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11224\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Euro10.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"860\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Euro10.png 860w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Euro10-300x162.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/>There&#8217;s a chance of highs only\u00a0in the 40s on any day featuring full rain and clouds. Throw in some gusty winds and\u00a0it may\u00a0feel colder than that. \u00a0Snows may fly as close as the West Virginia mountains.<\/p>\n<p>The funny thing is, the overall pattern in the northern hemisphere really doesn&#8217;t look like one that would produce all this chill.<\/p>\n<p>This pattern showing up around 10 days from now has the look of a pattern loading up with cold&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-42.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11226\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-42.png\" alt=\"GFS 4\" width=\"548\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-42.png 548w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS-42-300x226.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/a>Check out that blocking ridge in Alaska and the ridge showing up across Greenland.
