It&#8217;s going to snow across much of the region over the next few days. The question I continue to have is&#8230; how much? This would be a lot easier question to answer later in the season, but it&#8217;s October. The mild ground makes it a much tougher call.<\/p>\n<p>I continue to\u00a0believe southeastern Kentucky has the best chance at picking up on several inches of snow. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is already out for our far southeastern counties&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11468\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special12.png\" alt=\"Special1\" width=\"525\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special12.png 525w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special12-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have no changes to the evolution of this system Friday into Saturday. The &#8220;how much&#8221; question will be the one I focus on going forward. Here&#8217;s a look at the first &#8220;First Call For Snowfall&#8221; map of the season&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11470\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special.png\" alt=\"Special\" width=\"508\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special.png 508w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Special-300x206.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the ground were colder, those numbers would be higher. Some of the latest models suggest it snows hard enough to overcome that mild ground. The GFS is dropping the hammer on eastern Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11469\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS27.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"485\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS27.png 485w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GFS27-300x236.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 485px) 100vw, 485px\" \/>The pure dynamics with this upper level system digging in should be able to create some moderate to heavy bands of snow Friday night and Saturday morning.
