Good Sunday, everyone. Our wintry weekend is ending on a very cold, but nice looking weather note across the commonwealth. The first week of November is upon us and things continue to look very busy. As a matter of fact, the overall setup through the month looks busy with… wait for it… wait for it… the potential for additional blasts of winter.<\/p>\n

Let’s hit the high notes on what I’m seeing…<\/p>\n

– Today features sunshine and temps in the 40s for highs for many.<\/p>\n

– Monday turns milder with 50s in the east and 60s west. Skies stay sunny.<\/p>\n

-That nice weather gets ready to come to a screeching halt later Election Day. That’s when a steady steam of moisture moves in from the southwest. Rain breaks out from west to east on Tuesday and continues through Wednesday…<\/p>\n

– Locally heavy downpours are likely with the chilly rains.<\/p>\n

– The energy responsible for that rain slowly works across the south and then into the east by the end of the week. That’s when a system dives in from the northwest and tries to develop another big storm across the eastern part of the country. Here’s the GFS:<\/p>\n

– The Canadian model shows a similar solution…<\/p>\n

– Both models bring much colder air in behind that low and that COULD spell another round of wintry weather. The air behind that does not look as cold as we just had.<\/p>\n

– I mentioned in my last update how the pattern was just itching to send some big chunks of cold air our way from Canada in the coming weeks. The models have been showing this potential of late. The new Canadian goes frigid during the second week of the month…<\/p>\n

– Given the look of the various ensembles… that is certainly a possibility and would up the ante for additional shots of winter.<\/p>\n
