Good evening gang and welcome to another update on our winter storm. Snows continue to fall across most of the region with embedded areas of very heavy snow. These heavier bands can put down a quick couple of inches in just a few hours. What we are seeing tonight is what we are likely to be seeing over the next few days… periods of very heavy snows.

I see that the NWS in Louisville decided against having any Advisory or Warning up for their counties and are calling for a half inch or less of additional snow tonight. Yet… I just see a special weather statement calling for 1″-2″ of snows in some areas this evening. Hmmm… sounds like some individual forecaster issues going on to me. Just admit the earlier forecaster made yet another mistake and put Advisories back up and move on. It is really that simple. The combination of a general 1-3 additional inches of overnight snow and blowing snow is more than enough for that.

As I mentioned… snows will continue to come at us in waves through Tuesday and into Wednesday with several more inches to fall. The 18z GFS snowfall map shows a general 3″-8″ of snow yet to come for many areas…



The snows will become more widespread overnight into Tuesday as our northwesterly wind increases. You can track the snows here on regional radar…
