It\u2019s Christmas week and we have a very active weather pattern settling into the region. This will bring some nasty weather our way for holiday travelers. Heavy rain, thunder, high winds and some snow will all be possible in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>A shower or two will be possible out there today as temps soar well into the 40s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current temperatures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kymesonet.org\/wxmaps\/tair_f_large.png?nowtime=1325915126\" alt=\"\" width=\"479\" height=\"208\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rain will really increase on Tuesday and we could even hear some rumbles of thunder. It was about this same time last year when we had a severe weather outbreak around here. That doesn\u2019t look to be duplicated, but high winds will be a good bet<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because a strong storm system develops and rolls right on top of the region late Tuesday into Christmas Eve. The European Model shows the heavy rain, wind and snowflakes wrapping in behind the departing low\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2014\/12\/Euro.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8654\" src=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2014\/12\/Euro.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"327\" height=\"1128\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The latest NAM throws a bit of a wrench into the equation as it shows a much farther east and weaker low\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2014\/12\/NAM3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8656\" src=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2014\/12\/NAM3.png\" alt=\"NAM\" width=\"706\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a>That\u2019s also a colder, quicker solution and would give us a much better chance for snow Christmas Eve into Christmas Morning. It is the NAM, so that\u2019s the first strike against it. But, we will see if it\u2019s sniffing something.<\/p>\n<p>Another cold front will then move our way by the weekend. That one has much colder air pushing into our region and there\u2019s some indication this thing slows down and allows a couple of waves of low pressure to develop along it\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2014\/12\/Euro-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8655\" src=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2014\/12\/Euro-2.png\" alt=\"Euro 2\" width=\"317\" height=\"343\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had a long weekend and that&#8217;s all I can show you at this point.
