<\/FONT>Good Tuesday everyone. What a rain event we are seeing across much of central and eastern Kentucky. A slow moving cold front and the leftovers from Tropical Storm Lee continue to combine to produce heavy rains. This is a super slow mover that will keep rain around through the rest of the week and likely into the coming weekend.

We have all your tracking tools to follow the progress of the heavy rains. Before we get to that, here is a breakdown of how things look to play out.

– A swath of very heavy rains will be working across the eastern two-thirds of the state early today. This will continue to increase the threat for flash flooding as many areas should pick up another 1″-3″ of water.

– The rains will actually develop farther west as the day wears on as the center of “Lee” moves in from the south. We need to watch for a corridor of heavy rains developing on the western side of this system today into Wednesday.

– The low cuts off from the main flow and will hang around here into the coming weekend. This means a daily threat for showers and some thunderstorms.

– Temps will continue to run WELL BELOW normal during this time.
