Flooding problems continue along some of our waterways with the major rivers being the main culprits. Snow melt and recent heavy rains have combined to create a soggy scenario to where we can&#8217;t handle a lot of additional rains. Unfortunately, rounds of heavy rain are on the weather menu this week.<\/p>\n<p>The precipitation numbers from the past week have been impressive with some areas between 4 and 5 inches of rain&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rainfall-Numbers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13928\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rainfall-Numbers.jpg\" alt=\"Rainfall Numbers\" width=\"830\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rainfall-Numbers.jpg 830w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rainfall-Numbers-300x173.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 830px) 100vw, 830px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rain increases from southwest to northeast this evening and becomes heavy later tonight into Tuesday. Rainfall numbers of 1&#8243;-3&#8243; will be possible from tonight through Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals over the next week could top 5&#8243; in some areas. That would be more than enough to cause renewed flooding concerns on creeks and rivers across the entire state.<\/p>\n<p>Looking farther down the road, the pattern should still turn much colder later this month and into early April. As I&#8217;ve mentioned several times before&#8230; I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;ve had our last snowflakes.<\/p>\n<p>I will have updates later today.
