The week ahead is going to look and feel a whole lot like May across the bluegrass state. Temperatures will be very warm, humidity levels really spike, and rounds of thunderstorms will blow through the region. The temps are great, but the storm threat is something we could do without.<\/p>\n<p>A scattering of showers and storms push into the region today. This doesn&#8217;t look especially heavy, but some local downpours are possible. Temps will be held in check for areas getting in on the drops&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"full-wide\" src=\"http:\/\/gray.ftp.clickability.com\/wkytwebftp\/WEBTEMPS_STATE_650.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Temps will really take off for the rest of the week. Highs from the upper 70s to low 80s look good for, at least, a few days&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14182\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro2.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"519\" height=\"713\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro2.png 519w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro2-218x300.png 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 519px) 100vw, 519px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will be possible each and every day this week. That doesn&#8217;t mean you will get storms each day, but the potential is certainly there. We will have to watch for strong and severe storms ramping up during this time. The best threat appears to be during the second half of the week. That&#8217;s when a significant severe weather outbreak may occur from the plains into the Ohio Valley&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Special-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14187\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Special-2.png\" alt=\"Special 2\" width=\"642\" height=\"517\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Special-2.png 642w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Special-2-300x241.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 642px) 100vw, 642px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Heavy rainfall is a given with the storms and it&#8217;s a pattern that throws another big system our way early next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14181\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro-3.png\" alt=\"Euro 3\" width=\"341\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro-3.png 341w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Euro-3-262x300.png 262w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 341px) 100vw, 341px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a very active weather pattern that continues to take shape. It&#8217;s one that should have plenty of severe weather and heavy rain through the rest of the month and into May.
