Steamy temps continue to grip the region and that&#8217;s a pattern that shows no signs of letting up through the upcoming weekend. Signs of a cooler change are showing up for next week, but I&#8217;m already focusing on another possible hot spell later in the month.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today will hit the mid and upper 80s into much of the region. The increase in humidity will lead to a scattered shower or thunderstorm going up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"full-wide\" src=\"http:\/\/gray.ftp.clickability.com\/wkytwebftp\/WEBTEMPS_STATE_650.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Friday looks a lot like today in terms of temperatures and the threat for a few storms.<\/p>\n<p>If we can keep mostly sunny skies around on Saturday, temps may hit the 90 degree mark in a few locations. The GFS is spitting out a 90 in the east&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/GFS-TEMPS-12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14415\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/GFS-TEMPS-12.png\" alt=\"GFS TEMPS 1\" width=\"524\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/GFS-TEMPS-12.png 524w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/GFS-TEMPS-12-300x185.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" \/><\/a>Scattered showers and storms will increase later Sunday as a cold front across the plains states rolls our way. The exact timing of that front is still in question as we watch to see what kind of system develops off the southeastern coastline. As of now&#8230; the models bring this front into the state Monday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Euro4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14414\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Euro4.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"717\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Euro4.png 717w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Euro4-300x166.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 717px) 100vw, 717px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The numbers will come down behind that front with a day or two in the upper 60s and low 70s for highs. Right now&#8230; the plains are in line to get a ton of rain.
