The snow showers today across Kentucky have been kicking up a storm&#8230; literally. Thunder and lightning have been reported across parts of the area! Local accumulations from earlier today were 2&#8243;-3&#8243; in a few areas. This is pretty wild stuff folks for the month of April!<BR><BR>The snow showers will wind down once the sun goes down. Check this out&#8230;<BR><BR><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>AS OF 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON&#8230; 2.1 INCHES OF SNOW HAS ACCUMULATED AT<BR>THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON SINCE MIDNIGHT. THIS AMOUNT<BR>BRINGS OUR SEASONAL SNOWFALL TOTAL UP TO 35.0 INCHES&#8230; MAKING THE<BR>2008-09 SNOW SEASON THE 5TH SNOWIEST ON RECORD&#8230; TIED WITH THE<BR>1984-85 SEASON. THIS ALSO MAKES THIS THE SNOWIEST SEASON SINCE<BR>1995-96 WHEN A WHOPPING 62.7 INCHES OF SNOW FELL.<BR><BR>BELOW IS A TABLE OF THE TOP 10 SNOWIEST WINTERS AT THE NATIONAL<BR>WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON&#8230;<BR><BR>1&nbsp; 62.7 INCHES IN 1995-96<BR>2&nbsp; 48.3 INCHES IN 1993-94<BR>3&nbsp; 36.9 INCHES IN 1986-87<BR>4&nbsp; 36.1 INCHES IN 1992-93<BR><EM>5&nbsp; 35.0 INCHES IN 2008-09<\/EM><BR>6&nbsp; 35.0 INCHES IN 1984-85<BR>7&nbsp; 33.7 INCHES IN 1997-98<BR>8&nbsp; 24.9 INCHES IN 1985-86<BR>9&nbsp; 24.2 INCHES IN 2002-03<BR>10 22.8 INCHES IN 1981-82<BR><BR>WEATHER RECORDS FOR THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON DATE<BR>BACK TO JANUARY 1981.
