Good afternoon everyone gang. I hope this big time winter storm hasn’t been too bad on you. Thousands and thousands of Kentuckians are still without power and this will continue to be a problem in many areas as winds kick up following a heavy snow band that will continue to move out.

Heavy snow will continue across eastern Kentucky through the afternoon and this will put down a general 1″-4″. This will be falling on top of ice coated power lines and trees and will likely cause more of them to come down. The power outage problem is going to get worse before it gets better.

Looking ahead… we have a system diving in from the northwest Thursday night and Friday. This will likely put down an inch or two of snow with a little more possible in the higher elevations. Temps will be in the 20s for highs and lows Saturday may hit the single digits.

The next storm may develop across the Gulf of Mexico late Sunday and roll up the eastern side of the Appalachian mountains throwing heavy snow back toward us. Check it out…
