Just dropping by for another update for you on the developing winter storm that will be rolling our way Monday night Through Wednesday with a possible second system for Thursday. I have been making my thoughts clear in recent days that the potential is there for a big time snow and ice event across the entire region. The models are still waffling a bit as you would expect&#8230; but the trend is clear that Kentucky is likely to be in the middle of a significant winter storm.<BR><BR>Instead of me doing the talking here&#8230; let&#8217;s see what the NWS HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL PREDICTION CENTER&nbsp; has to say about it&#8230;<BR><BR><STRONG>Chance of 4&#8243;+ snows Monday night\/Tuesday<BR><\/STRONG><IMG src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/0\/4\/8\/0\/3\/139967-130840\/Euro9.jpg\"><BR><BR><STRONG>Chance of 8&#8243;+ snows Monday night\/Tuesday<\/STRONG><BR><BR><BR><IMG src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/0\/4\/8\/0\/3\/139967-130840\/Euro_26.jpg\"><BR><BR><STRONG>Chance For Significant Ice Monday Night\/Tuesday<BR><\/STRONG><IMG src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/0\/4\/8\/0\/3\/139967-130840\/Euro_35.jpg\"><BR><BR>Check out their discussion&#8230;<BR><BR><BR>DAY 3&#8230;<BR><BR>SOUTH CENTRAL PLAINS THROUGH LOWER OH VALLEY&#8230;<BR><STRONG>POTENTIAL DANGEROUS WINTER WEATHER SCENARIO <\/STRONG>IS SHAPING UP ACROSS A<BR>PORTION OF THE THE CENTRAL U.S. FROM OK TO WV ON MONDAY NIGHT AND<BR>TUESDAY.&nbsp; THE ELONGATED TROUGH WILL STRETCH ACROSS VIRTUALLY THE<BR>ENTIRE CONUS WITH A SIGNIFICANT PIECE OF VORT ENERGY EJECTING FROM<BR>THE 4 CORNERS THAT WILL SLOWLY RIDE THE PATHLENGTH OF THE TROUGH. <BR>VV FIELDS WILL BE STRONG ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION AS A 185+KT JETS<BR>DEVELOPS WITHIN THE TROUGH.&nbsp; AS THE FLOW BCMS MORE SW&#8230;GULF<BR>MOISTURE WILL BECOME INVOLVED WITH THE SYSTEM&#8230;AND PERSISTENT<BR>OVERRUNNING WILL OCCUR ALONG\/NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY SEPARATING THE<BR>ARCTIC AIR MASS.&nbsp; COMPLEX THERMAL PROFILE WILL ENSURE MIXED<BR>P-TYPES&#8230;BUT MODELS ARE CONVERGING ON THE IDEA OF .50-.75 INCH<BR>ICING FROM NORTHEAST OK TO CENTRAL TN&#8230;AND POSSIBLE A GREAT AREA<BR>OF AROUND .25 INCH ICE.&nbsp; IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY WILL BE<BR>AN AXIS OF HEAVY SNOW.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <BR><BR>I will put together a &#8220;first call&#8221; map later tonight so check back.<BR><BR>BTW&#8230; my &#8220;light snow streak&#8221; call is actually looking pretty good right now for later Sunday&#8230; especially across northern Kentucky. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/wink.png\" border=\"0\" \/><BR><BR>Take care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good evening everyone.
