Good Tuesday, folks. Our potent storm system is kicking into high gear today into Wednesday and that means plenty of rain and gusty winds. This is one of two systems I’m tracking between now and the start of November. Wait… really? November is almost here? That’s honestly hard to believe.<\/p>\n

Widespread rain becomes heavy at times today as winds slowly crank up. Here’s a brief rundown of what to expect:<\/p>\n

– A line of thunderstorms is possible overnight into early Wednesday. It won’t take much to get some strong storms with high winds.<\/p>\n

– Speaking of winds, gusts could reach 40mph at times through early tomorrow, and that doesn’t include thunderstorms.<\/p>\n

– Rainfall totals could reach 1″-3″ from the Interstate 75 corridor and west. Locally higher amounts are possible, so watch for some small stream flooding. Farther east, totals won’t be nearly as impressive.<\/p>\n

– Scattered showers and storms will be around late Wednesday into Wednesday night as the cold front swings in. Much colder air crashes in behind the front as it passes early Thursday…<\/p>\n

Friday’s weather looks better with low 30s to start and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will be rather gusty at times.<\/p>\n

This bring us to Halloween and the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland in Lexington. Talk about a BIG forecast… this is it! A developing storm system in Texas will likely throw moisture our way before the weekend is over. When does this moisture arrive? That’s the million dollar question.<\/p>\n

Obviously, we want it to come late Saturday night or Sunday. The latest European Model continues to suggestthe potential for rain sneaking in before Halloween is finished…<\/p>\n

The greatest chance for rain comes Sunday and Monday and that could be heavy at times with temps in the 50s to open November.<\/p>\n

Once that system moves away, temps could get pretty warm for a few days with a nice ridge of high pressure building in…<\/p>\n

In what should be a familiar theme of November (lots of back and forth), the warmth gets wiped out by a strong cold front a few days later…<\/p>\n
