Our gloomy work week rolls on with weak upper level systems bringing clouds and the occasional shower chance our way. This weather is tame in comparison to the storm system trying to come together for the upcoming weekend. Buckle up for a windy and wild ride.<\/p>\n<p>Between now and then, we have two more shower makers zipping across our part of the world. The first arrives Wednesday with some light showers. The next comes Friday as much milder air surges in ahead of our weekend storm system.<\/p>\n<p>The forecast models continue to deviate a little bit on how to handle such a potent system. The European Model has been leading the charge with this thing for the past several days. It continues to show a powerhouse of a storm working into the Ohio Valley with near record warm temps ahead of it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16578\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro6.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"705\" height=\"698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro6.png 705w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro6-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro6-300x297.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 705px) 100vw, 705px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If accurate, strong storms and very heavy rains would be possible across much of our region. The high wind threat continues to show up, as well.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Model shows this storm working right on top of us&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Canadian1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16574\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Canadian1.png\" alt=\"Canadian\" width=\"689\" height=\"669\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Canadian1.png 689w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Canadian1-300x291.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 689px) 100vw, 689px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That track could also bring strong storms, heavy rain and high winds our way.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS gives us a different look each time it runs and appears to be focusing too much energy on the northern branch of the jet stream&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/GFS-210.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16575\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/GFS-210.png\" alt=\"GFS 2\" width=\"635\" height=\"826\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/GFS-210.png 635w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/GFS-210-231x300.png 231w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Whatever the scenario, a big temp crash follows as the storm passes to our north and east. It&#8217;s possible to get a snowflake on the wraparound action to start the new week.<\/p>\n<p>That new week should feature much more of a winter looking pattern across the country. I will get more into that over the next few days, but I need to focus in on how the weekend storm plays out.<\/p>\n<p>Another update or two comes your way later, so check back.
